I’m on my way

Well, in two hours I will be on my way.

Last year, having been ill for quite sometime without realising, the Challenge was more of a struggle than it should have been and I want into a fast decline suffering near devastating effects to my well being on my return. Luckily, David was able to return to look after me and with his loving care and devotion I made a rapid and complete recovery. I decided that to regain my confidence and get my self belief back, I would Challenge again. I’m firing on all cylinders and determined to do myself real justice this time around.

My home baked treats are baked, divided up and foil wrapped. I have also sent a parcel off to Challenge Control containing a lovely cake to say thank you for their support and hard work, but if anyone doesn’t like ginger they’ll be disappointed. My pack is packed and not looking too bulgy. I’ve been through my list three times, I can’t have forgotten anything. I hope. Although I have lost a tablet somewhere. I have been through my route with a fine toothcomb, I have google mapped all the road bits, I have read other peoples’ experiences of the tricky bits and I’m as prepared as I can be. I hope. I have had some sleep and I managed to eat a reasonable meal last night, although I haven’t yet had breakfast. Or made my packed lunch for the train….

I am a little nervous.

But I AM confident that this year, in full health and with David’s faith in me, I’ll walk my walk my way and happily so.

I may or may not blog on the go, but I will be back…

Good luck Louise - I'm pleased to see you made it to the start.
Am leaving, with my guide who has sadly now resigned from his Sherpa duties, from the hotel around 9am.
Have fun
Martin
