"It'll be alright in the end, and if it's not alright, it's not the end."
Home made marmalade!Well done, Louise. You won't look back. Did you get it right first time? Sue still finds it quite easy to produce a slightly runnier than planned version...
Just shuffle those extra pounds down those trousers, Louise...Marmalade - yummy! Or an extra lap with those spiky shoes should do it.
I think Sue and I might be on the same wavelength, though my 'slightly runnier than planned version' is due to lack of patience! Luckily, I don't mind and them as do, needn't have marmalade on their toast.Martin, you once recommended a wild camp near Allt Darrarie, Spittal of Glenmuick? Can't remember if you gave me a rough grid reference and if you did, I can't find it (ahem). Could you remind me please? I'm filling in a hopeful route sheet, just incase our numbers come up, as I've heard others are on their way up the list. Thank you muchly.Alan. Yes. Several extra laps maybe needed I think, the trousers are definitely a tight squeeze, but at least it's all stored below the waist line, no muffin tops here, thanks very much! Going to have to be firm with myself. Wish I wasn't such a good cook. Should stop buying butter. And wine. And Glenmorangie...Not the 70% chocolate though. No, that keeps me sane and the children safe!
LouiseThere was a compact space for a Nallo at ND 319 837 in Allt Darrarie. It's on the south west bank about 50 metres beyond the footbridge, the other side of the stream to the path. Ie don't cross the footbridge. This was recommended by one vetter but rejected by another! We were very comfy there. The following morning we passed various other people camping a little further up, beside the path. What numbers are you on the list, now?Have fun with the planning, and with the 70% stuff. We find that excellent for Choc B&B pudd!
Martin, that's brilliant, thanks so much. I have a sneaky suspicion it might be rejected in the planning, there's a note somewhere about wild camping not being desirable in some areas, but I would probably 'plan' to make it all the way to Shielin of Mark, but just run out of steam in a quiet corner enroute. This spot is looking good!We haven't had any communication from Roger, so we're not in imminent danger of getting on, but Andy Howell has gone up the list by eleven places, so we should be around 49/50. Wouldn't it be just desperate to get into the top 10 by 1st April?!Love the planning though. This route is nice and gentle for a first, I've got so many routes up my sleeve for future TGOs, when I'm more experienced.70%, can't beat it:)
Hi LouiseWild camping is fine up Allt Darrarie - it's outside the Balmoral Estate restrictions.Have fun!
