Having said I would probably never do another MYOG again after the first time, I found myself rummaging through the hat and gloves box (or rather, asking a child to because it’s Mothering Sunday ;-D) for elastic shock cord and cord locks. Why, I hear you ask, (go on, I know you want to!) well, because I’d had a flashback. Last Challenge, I’d not used a proper map case, but because my route was so straight forward and I was rarely alone, I’d not really had to use my maps. I knew, however, that I needed to find a better system. Whilst reading up on everyone’s Challenges last, I’d come across Bob and Rose’s Podcasts and remembered this morning that Bob had shown us a useful looking map holder. I searched it out and have put together this: My version of a map holder
Now all I need to do is attach it to my rucksack and go for a walk!
I like it!
ReplyDeleteHi Louise,
ReplyDeleteFrom what i am looking at in the picture, you could loose a tie inadvertently.
It might be an idea to utilise the rubber ring tabs in some way to ensure that you don’t loose any.
Of course i could be seeing things.
Needs a test drive Laura, so I'll concentrate on that and you can fall over for me ;-D
ReplyDeleteI'll get back to you on that Alan.
Blue Peter badge is on it's way...
ReplyDelete...but I didn't use any sticky back plastic...

ReplyDeleteNor duck tape or crayons or egg cartons or milk bottle tops.
This year I am using an A5 rather than A4 map case.
I have an old ski pass thingy attached to it. The ones that used to have pass on the end of a retracting elastic gadget.
It is attached to the bottom, so when I let go it winds in and does not flap about so much, but can easily be pulled out.

ReplyDeleteAndrew, it must be a boy thing...
Ah you have found out my secret agenda.
ReplyDeleteUs boys, we have to have something to play with.
You will have noticed!
