Oh lummy, my memory's going

I know I was reading somewhere, maybe a blog, or a magazine, about a nifty little rubber gadget that clipped to the fly sheet, (or anywhere else for that matter) without making a hole, (looked like a suspender fastner, for want of a better description) that you could use for an extra peg, (or whatever).
I could do with one for Bill, just for less flap.
But... I don't know where I was.
Pants.
Any ideas? 'Cos I'm clueless and frustrated.
(Nothing new there then...)

  1. You saw them in July's TGO Magazine, in Eddy Meechan's bit.

Someone pointed them out to me a few years ago, and gave me a link to an American company. If I could just remember how and where that information was imparted, I could provide even more useful information.

Regarding Bill's flappiness, is it not solved by putting as much tension as you can through the end guys (maybe using beefier pegs than the pins he probably came with)?

  2. I got some a few years back from a camp shop, not a millets bit one of the ones that deal more with caravans and tents.

  4. Ooo, that was quick, thank you both!

Gayle, I suspect you may be right, but he is an inner first pitch, the ground sheet being pegged, then the outer tied to the two poles and clipped to the ground sheet, (normal inner first, I guess!). There is only one guy at the head end and down the side with no door, is no peg or guy, so tension is tricky, although with practice I should get the hang of it. However, incase I continue to have problems, I wanted a plan, and these are just the job! Cheers.

Can you tell I'm a numpty?!!

  5. You can make an emergency or temporary tarp clip by using a small stone or similar sized object such as a golf ball. Place the golf ball on the "inside" of the tarp and push it outward, forming the tarp around the ball. Then use some paracord or other rope to loop around the outside, cinching it down tight on this improvised anchor point. Attach the other end of the cord to a tent stake or whatever.
